I have no excuses...

Well, hello blog! I honestly had forgotten the name of our blog. I'm not good at this blog thing, probably because I just don't feel like I have that many interesting things to tell! Maybe I'll make it my 2012 resolution to be better about blogging.

Trevor and I have been loving our lives together! Our summer was a whirlwind and went by so fast, and fall doesn't look to slow down at all. We celebrated our one year anniversary in very classy style! Trevor booked us a room at the Brown Palace (http://www.brownpalace.com/) in downtown Denver. It was built in the late 1800s and the charm and decor has been maintained through the years. Our room was amazing, our date night was amazing, and of course my husband is amazing! I forgot to take any pictures. Another resolution to add to 2012!

We talk all the time about how blessed we feel and how much we love this stage in our lives. We try not to take a single day for granted because every day, after all, is a gift from our God. Here is a picture of us in front of our house this past weekend. We had the trim on our house painted white on Friday, and we LOVE it! We have been wanting to do it for awhile, and it looks so amazing. It used to be a darker green than the rest of the house.

We are going on our one year anniversary trip in November. We go on a cruise leaving from New Orleans and stopping in Costa Maya, Belize City, Roatan Honduras, and Cozumel. We are SO excited and can't wait to go. I'll definitely take pictures then and post them when we get back.

Until then, I'll try to be better about blogging, although I know I have said the same thing before!

Six months...

Trevor and I celebrated our six month anniversary this past Sunday...with me being sick. Ugh. I had a sore throat. We went to church, came home and slept most of the afternoon. I crashed because I didn't feel well. Trevor crashed out of sympathy. :) Here we are on the cruise ship on our honeymoon...

I think it goes without saying that the past six months have been the most incredible months of my life! Married life is even better than I ever thought it would be. Every day, I'm reminded of how crazy blessed I am that God did things on His time frame, rather than mine. I still can't believe that He chose me to have Trevor as my life partner. He has blessed us beyond measure and we are so excited to see what else He has in store for us! And just for fun, here are a few pictures of us over the last few years. Sorry for the cheesy post, I'm just feeling crazy blessed!
This is one of my favorite pictures! We were at dinner at the Paris hotel in Las Vegas.
One of the top places for both of us to visit was Seattle. Here we are at the top of the Needle for dinner!

In June of last year, we went to San Francisco to see my friend Kate. Here we are watching a basketball game. We also went to the US Open Golf Championship in Pebble Beach. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to take pictures there, but it was incredible.

For my birthday weekend last year, we decided at the last minute to take a road trip to South Dakota to see Mt. Rushmore. It really was a lot of fun, and we're glad we went! And since we figured we'd never purposefully go to North Dakota, we drove all the way up there, just so we could say we've been there.

Last year in January, we went to Salt Lake City, Utah to visit our friends Karl and Deb Mentzel. Here we are in Park City...

And this is at the Utah Jazz/Cleveland Cavaliers basketball game, when LeBron was still cool.

Dad and Malinda came up in October last year and we went up to Breckenridge to see the leaves changing color. Beautiful!

In May of 2009, I ran the San Diego Rock 'n' Roll Marathon and Trevor came out to support me! Before the race...
And 26.2 miles later! It was so awesome to have him there supporting me!

We've already had some amazing adventures together and I can't wait to see what else comes our way. Praise God for loving us and blessing us with others to love!

HELLO 2011!!!

I finally figured out what the problem was with uploading pictures. Turns out, it was me. :) I'm pretty sure I have it all under control now! One of my resolutions is to blog more often. I'll admit, we are not incredibly interesting, but I think those of you that read this might appreciate occasional updates and pictures.

We got married on July 23, 2010. It was the most perfect day. It was pouring rain a few hours before the wedding (which was outside!), but cleared up beautifully! Trevor's brother-in-law, Logan, said it best..."That was just God showing off, right there." Yes, it was! Our photographer, Amy Rose King (www.amyrosekingphotography.com) was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Here's a small sample, you can see more at her website above. Just search for Trevor and Melissa at the bottom.

We left the next day for a fabulous honeymoon, a 7 night cruise to Mexico! We stopped in Cabo, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta. It was 8 days and 7 nights of complete relaxation and bliss. Since then, we marvel every day at the incredible blessings God has poured down upon us. He answered my prayers far greater than I ever expected. Married life is fabulous!
Our first Halloween was spent here at the house, passing out candy to the neighborhood kids. I wasn't sure how many kids we would have, but we actually had several! Next year, we'll have to dress up and get a little more into it.
Trevor was an incredible sport and helped me decorate the house for our first Christmas together throughout the first week of November. Many people asked me how I managed to talk him into letting me decorate early. My response was simple. I had more than forewarned him of my Christmas obsession while we were dating, so he knew what he was getting into.
Thanksgiving was celebrated with us both working overtime and ordering pizza on Saturday. Maybe not ideal, but it ended up being perfect. Our sweet neighbors did invite us over for a full Thanksgiving dinner. We went next door and felt extremely welcome. For Christmas, we headed south to Portales, New Mexico where Trevor's family lives. We were there for about 5 days before having to head home and back to work. Then we rang in the new year with incredible family and friends at our house!
That brings me to now. All the Christmas stuff is down and we are settling into our regular routine. We strongly believe that God has incredible things planned for us, and we can't wait to see what 2011 brings! Stay tuned for the happenings of our lives together! Happy New Year!!!

Technical Difficulites

So I tried again to post another blog with pictures...and it still will not upload my pictures correctly. Now that things seem to be into a routine, I'd love to blog more regularly. So I'm in the process of figuring out a better blogging system. I'll keep you posted!

A quick update on us...married life is fantastic! We are really loving being together and living life together as one! God has blessed us tremendously. Stay tuned, more to come!

ONE WEEK!!!

Here we are! One week before the wedding! :) We have been so busy and I'm finally getting some time to get a blog posted. Unfortunately, for some reason, I can't get pictures to upload. Maybe it's time I consult my awesome bro-in-law for a better program than blogger...

We've been really busy, getting moved into our house, traveling for showers, and packing for the wedding and honeymoon! For Trevor's birthday last year, I got him tickets to the US Open Golf Championship in Pebble Beach. Unfortunately we weren't allowed to take pictures at the golf course, but it was beyond beautiful! We stayed with my friend, Kate, in San Francisco and were able to see a few of the sights there.

Give us a few weeks (okay, maybe a few months) and I'll get pictures posted somehow of our house, San Francisco, the wedding, and the honeymoon! Love to you all! One week until we are Mr. & Mrs. Trevor Moore!!

WHOA!

Hello once again from Melissa & Trevor. I cannot express how crazy things have been for us since our engagement. All good things, of course, but still CRAZY! We decided to begin house hunting so we would have a place to call our first home. That was fun for about one day. We finally found the house we both loved. We are scheduled to close on Tuesday at 4pm. Please keep us in your prayers for that process! Our plan is to paint, replace the carpet, and re-tile the kitchen before we get completely moved in.

We are also in full swing of wedding planning, of course! We have the invitations all ready to address and send out. Most of the final decisions have been made, we are just waiting on closer to time to carry them out. All of our shower dates are set. This is what June looks like for us. Come home and work, leave town for something, come home to work, leave town for something. It will be a whirlwind, but we are really excited, happy, and blessed with all that's going on.

I also will begin a new job at the University of Colorado Hospital in the NICU. I start tomorrow in the unit and I'm anxious to get started. Trevor has been wonderfully supportive through all the wedding planning, house hunting, and job change. He spent hours and hours on the computer looking at homes and also scouring craislist to find inexpensive things for our house. I cannot wait to get in and start making it our own!

We began our premarital counseling a few weeks ago. Our counselor had us take a survey seperately that compiled our responses into categories of strengths, growth areas, and things we agree/disagree on. Last week she revealed to us that for the stress level portion, we both were at 95% stress level! It was pretty funny! Most of it is circumstantial, but still!

Once we close and things get moving, I'll post some before and after pictures of our house. And I'll try to be a better blogger, but given what the next 3 months looks like for us, I can make no guarantees! More to come!

Blessed Beyond Measure

I have fallen off the face of the blogging world! Trevor and I have had a really busy, but FUN, few weeks! First, and most importantly, we are ENGAGED!!! :) A few weeks ago, I came home from work and started my laundry. I opened one of my drawers, which had been empty, and found clothes, shoes, a note, and a rose! The note was from Trevor, of course, and it said that he picked out these clothes for me and that he'd be here to pick me up at 4:30! YEA! Surprise date night! Only problem was that I wasn't supposed to find that until the next day. Oops! So the next day, Thursday, February 4, I was all dressed and ready. Right before he left to come pick me up, Trevor emailed me a slideshow he had made of all these pictures of us set to the song "True Companion" by Marc Cohn. (If you haven't heard that song, look it up right now. Incredible!). So I'm in tears by the time he got to my place to pick me up. We made our way downtown to walk around and find somewhere to have dinner. We got to this really pretty pedestrian bridge that overlooks the mountains and the downtown view. We stood there talking and enjoying the view. Then at sunset, Trevor got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! (more tears at this point!). Of course, I said YES!!! It was, by far, the best moment of my life thus far. Trevor had made dinner reservations at 2 different restaurants. We chose Elway's where they toasted us with champagne and a free desert! Here are a few pictures from that night...

Just engaged!!!

Trevor designed the ring himself. We never went to look together. I wouldn't change a single thing! It's perfect!

Trevor also had a huge, beautiful bouquet of roses waiting for me in the car. He's incredible!

The happy couple!!!

Our free desert from Elway's! It was yummy!

I truly cannot believe how blessed I am to have Trevor in my life. He is so good to me and we have so much fun together. God is doing amazing things in our lives right now and we are so grateful for the blessings! I am so thrilled to spend my life with Trevor and share all that life throws our way. Trevor, you are my true companion! I can't wait for the rest of my life!! We will be getting married July 23, 2010!

Another exciting thing is that my sister, Melanie, and her husband, Christian, welcomed their second baby boy on February 15! Keegan Luke joins Cohen as my 2 favorite little boys in the entire world! Here are a few pictures of the sweet kiddos! I LOVE being Aunt Melissa!
