Six months...

Trevor and I celebrated our six month anniversary this past Sunday...with me being sick. Ugh. I had a sore throat. We went to church, came home and slept most of the afternoon. I crashed because I didn't feel well. Trevor crashed out of sympathy. :) Here we are on the cruise ship on our honeymoon...

I think it goes without saying that the past six months have been the most incredible months of my life! Married life is even better than I ever thought it would be. Every day, I'm reminded of how crazy blessed I am that God did things on His time frame, rather than mine. I still can't believe that He chose me to have Trevor as my life partner. He has blessed us beyond measure and we are so excited to see what else He has in store for us! And just for fun, here are a few pictures of us over the last few years. Sorry for the cheesy post, I'm just feeling crazy blessed!
This is one of my favorite pictures! We were at dinner at the Paris hotel in Las Vegas.
One of the top places for both of us to visit was Seattle. Here we are at the top of the Needle for dinner!

In June of last year, we went to San Francisco to see my friend Kate. Here we are watching a basketball game. We also went to the US Open Golf Championship in Pebble Beach. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to take pictures there, but it was incredible.

For my birthday weekend last year, we decided at the last minute to take a road trip to South Dakota to see Mt. Rushmore. It really was a lot of fun, and we're glad we went! And since we figured we'd never purposefully go to North Dakota, we drove all the way up there, just so we could say we've been there.

Last year in January, we went to Salt Lake City, Utah to visit our friends Karl and Deb Mentzel. Here we are in Park City...

And this is at the Utah Jazz/Cleveland Cavaliers basketball game, when LeBron was still cool.

Dad and Malinda came up in October last year and we went up to Breckenridge to see the leaves changing color. Beautiful!

In May of 2009, I ran the San Diego Rock 'n' Roll Marathon and Trevor came out to support me! Before the race...
And 26.2 miles later! It was so awesome to have him there supporting me!

We've already had some amazing adventures together and I can't wait to see what else comes our way. Praise God for loving us and blessing us with others to love!

HELLO 2011!!!

I finally figured out what the problem was with uploading pictures. Turns out, it was me. :) I'm pretty sure I have it all under control now! One of my resolutions is to blog more often. I'll admit, we are not incredibly interesting, but I think those of you that read this might appreciate occasional updates and pictures.

We got married on July 23, 2010. It was the most perfect day. It was pouring rain a few hours before the wedding (which was outside!), but cleared up beautifully! Trevor's brother-in-law, Logan, said it best..."That was just God showing off, right there." Yes, it was! Our photographer, Amy Rose King (www.amyrosekingphotography.com) was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Here's a small sample, you can see more at her website above. Just search for Trevor and Melissa at the bottom.

We left the next day for a fabulous honeymoon, a 7 night cruise to Mexico! We stopped in Cabo, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta. It was 8 days and 7 nights of complete relaxation and bliss. Since then, we marvel every day at the incredible blessings God has poured down upon us. He answered my prayers far greater than I ever expected. Married life is fabulous!
Our first Halloween was spent here at the house, passing out candy to the neighborhood kids. I wasn't sure how many kids we would have, but we actually had several! Next year, we'll have to dress up and get a little more into it.
Trevor was an incredible sport and helped me decorate the house for our first Christmas together throughout the first week of November. Many people asked me how I managed to talk him into letting me decorate early. My response was simple. I had more than forewarned him of my Christmas obsession while we were dating, so he knew what he was getting into.
Thanksgiving was celebrated with us both working overtime and ordering pizza on Saturday. Maybe not ideal, but it ended up being perfect. Our sweet neighbors did invite us over for a full Thanksgiving dinner. We went next door and felt extremely welcome. For Christmas, we headed south to Portales, New Mexico where Trevor's family lives. We were there for about 5 days before having to head home and back to work. Then we rang in the new year with incredible family and friends at our house!
That brings me to now. All the Christmas stuff is down and we are settling into our regular routine. We strongly believe that God has incredible things planned for us, and we can't wait to see what 2011 brings! Stay tuned for the happenings of our lives together! Happy New Year!!!
