Blessed Beyond Measure

I have fallen off the face of the blogging world! Trevor and I have had a really busy, but FUN, few weeks! First, and most importantly, we are ENGAGED!!! :) A few weeks ago, I came home from work and started my laundry. I opened one of my drawers, which had been empty, and found clothes, shoes, a note, and a rose! The note was from Trevor, of course, and it said that he picked out these clothes for me and that he'd be here to pick me up at 4:30! YEA! Surprise date night! Only problem was that I wasn't supposed to find that until the next day. Oops! So the next day, Thursday, February 4, I was all dressed and ready. Right before he left to come pick me up, Trevor emailed me a slideshow he had made of all these pictures of us set to the song "True Companion" by Marc Cohn. (If you haven't heard that song, look it up right now. Incredible!). So I'm in tears by the time he got to my place to pick me up. We made our way downtown to walk around and find somewhere to have dinner. We got to this really pretty pedestrian bridge that overlooks the mountains and the downtown view. We stood there talking and enjoying the view. Then at sunset, Trevor got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! (more tears at this point!). Of course, I said YES!!! It was, by far, the best moment of my life thus far. Trevor had made dinner reservations at 2 different restaurants. We chose Elway's where they toasted us with champagne and a free desert! Here are a few pictures from that night...

Just engaged!!!

Trevor designed the ring himself. We never went to look together. I wouldn't change a single thing! It's perfect!

Trevor also had a huge, beautiful bouquet of roses waiting for me in the car. He's incredible!

The happy couple!!!

Our free desert from Elway's! It was yummy!

I truly cannot believe how blessed I am to have Trevor in my life. He is so good to me and we have so much fun together. God is doing amazing things in our lives right now and we are so grateful for the blessings! I am so thrilled to spend my life with Trevor and share all that life throws our way. Trevor, you are my true companion! I can't wait for the rest of my life!! We will be getting married July 23, 2010!

Another exciting thing is that my sister, Melanie, and her husband, Christian, welcomed their second baby boy on February 15! Keegan Luke joins Cohen as my 2 favorite little boys in the entire world! Here are a few pictures of the sweet kiddos! I LOVE being Aunt Melissa!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TREVOR!!!

I'm a little late on this post! Trevor's birthday was November 16. I have been telling him for 2 months how great his present is and how much he was going to like it! I kept trying to think of a fun, creative way to give it to him, but I couldn't think of anything! So I have to give credit where credit is due and thank my dear friend, Kate, for this idea...

That's right! Trevor and I are heading to Pebble Beach, California in June for the U.S. Open Golf championship! I was so anxious to give it to him, I actually gave it to him a few days early (I would be terrible at throwing a surprise party!). He is SO excited, and it was so fun for me to see him be so excited. We are going to be staying with my friend, Kate, in San Francisco and driving down to Pebble Beach on Friday, June 18, 2010, for the tourney. Kate is going with us and I'm SUPER excited to see her! Love you, Kate!

Here are a few pictures of what we have to look forward to! I love you, Trevor! I'm so excited to be able to do this with you!

I may be just as excited as Trevor is! Okay, probably not near as excited as he is, but I am looking forward to it! I know it will be fun! Stay tuned in June for a post of the experience...

Happy Birthday to Aspen!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ASPEN! We jetted to Vegas to celebrate Aspen's (one of Trevor's sisters) birthday in style! Here is the birthday girl, herself!

As luck would have it, Denver was hit with a crazy snow storm the 2 days before we were supposed to leave! This is the most snow I've ever seen in my life! We were afraid we weren't going to make it at all because many flights were being cancelled. (Sorry for the small pictures!)

Luckily, we made it out! Now for the fun to start! We started the night with lots of laughs before heading to dinner at a great Italian place Thursday night.

Friday morning, we sent the boys on their way so all the girls could enjoy a relaxing morning at the spa. Ahhhh.....

Friday night we had reservations at The Eiffel Tower Restaurant at the Paris hotel. We had the perfect table with the perfect view. Trevor and I clean up well!
I love you, Trevor!
Tucker and Jody
The lovely ladies...

Saturday, we did some shopping and spent some time by the pool. Then....HALLOWEEN! People watching in Las Vegas is always a fun thing to do, but people watching in Las Vegas on Halloween...there are NO words! Trevor went as a 70s basketball player. I was really impressed, he came up with the idea and the costume all on his own! Good job, Trevor! You were the best costume there! Trevor showing us his mad basketball skills....

All the girls went as 80s chicks! We crimped our hair and brought out the leggings, belts, leg warmers, and loud make-up. It was so much fun!

Autumn and I

Trevor and some random guy dressed as a marathoner! Hysterical!

How you doin'? :)

Autumn's flight left early Sunday morning. The rest of us didn't leave until late Sunday night, so we got up and had an amazing breakfast! We missed you, Autumn!!!

It really was an awesome weekend! We are already talking about where we should go next year. Any ideas?!?! Happy Birthday, Aspen! We are so happy we were able to be there to celebrate with you!

My New Ride!

As promised (although a bit late!), here are a few pictures of my new car! It's a 2005 Mazda Tribute. It has done very well for my first winter storm in Denver, and I'm loving having more room! My Mustang was the first car I bought all my myself. It was tons of fun and it was kind of hard to turn those keys over. But...all in all, I'm extremely happy with my new ride!

Peace Out!

Most of you know that last weekend was my last in Dallas. It was a crazy weekend of spending time with friends and family before Trevor and I made the LONG drive to Denver this past Sunday. My last night of work at Baylor was last Monday night. I was eating my lunch when my friends Jennifer and Allison walked into the break room with some tasty snacks and this cake as a going away party for me! I enjoyed my time at Baylor. I made some great friends and I definitely learned a lot that I will carry with me for the rest of my career!

I had movers come to my apartment last Thursday to load up my furniture and unload it into storage. It was a stressful day, but Friday rolled around and it was time to party! Trevor flew in Friday afternoon and we went to Top Golf in Dallas for a going away party with several friends. If you have not been to Top Golf, I would highly recommend it! We all had such a great time.

Kristin, Natalie, and I

Trevor and I (me being silly!)

Courtney and I ran the marathon in San Diego together! I was so glad she came to hang out.

Audra and I have been friends since the NICU in Lubbock! She's already staked out some plane tickets for a visit to Denver!

It was much colder that night than any of us expected, so after awhile, we all went back to my friends, Nicole and Forrest's house to hang out. Thank you all SO much for coming! I had a great time! (Kelly, do you have that picture of us on your camera? I thought I got one, but I guess I didn't on my camera!)
Saturday morning, Trevor, his grandparents, and I went to tour the new Cowboy's Stadium. That place is absolutely unreal! Here are a few of the pictures I took on the tour.

All of you also know that I am completely wrapped around the sweet, tiny fingers of my nephew, Cohen! He turned 2 years old on October 15. His 2nd birthday party was Saturday evening. He had lots of his friends and family there to celebrate with him. Here he is enjoying his cake! For more pictures of the cutest little man you have ever seen, go to www.melanieross.net. This is my sister's blog and I promise you won't be able to get enough of this perfect kiddo!

Sunday morning we got up EARLY to begin the trip to Denver. It actually went by faster than we expected, but it still took a solid 13 hours to get here. We hit a few hours of some icy and rainy weather, but it cleared up for the last hour or so.
In light of the scary icy weather, we decided that we should start looking for a more weather appropriate car for me. After lots of research, and some incredible good luck, I traded my Mustang in today for a new (well, new to me!) car! Post to look for: My New Ride!

Moving...

...to DENVER! As most of you know, I have been dating Trevor for a little over a year (a year and 2 months, to be exact!). He lives in Denver, and we have had a blast this past year! It is also pretty hard dating several states apart! As we've grown closer, we decided we were ready to make things easier on us by living closer together. So over the last few weeks, everything has fallen into place for me to take a travel nursing assignment at The Children's Hospital in Denver, starting October 12! When I got the job offer, I had exactly 3 weeks to pack up and ship out! Yikes! But, as you all also know, I'm pretty organized (and by that I mean completely Type A, left brained, slightly OCD, etc...) so I made my list, got to work, and now I'm almost completely ready to go. I just have a few things left to pack and a handful of last minute phone calls to make and errands to run. Fortunately, the travel nursing industry is awesome. The agency provides a fully furnished apartment for me, so I didn't have to worry about finding a place to live. I should find out my address by the end of this week. My recruiter also takes care of all the details with starting a new job and that is very helpful!

We are really excited that this opportunity has opened up! We feel that everything has happened just like it was supposed to, which means there is a much bigger hand involved! It's amazing what can happen when you just sit back and let God take control of your life. I feel so incredibly blessed to have Trevor in my life. For those of you who haven't met him, he's pretty great! He is so good to me and we laugh constantly! I could go on, but I'll spare you the cheesy details! Unless, of course, you want to know more, and I'll be glad to tell you all about him. :)

And for fun, a few more pictures from this past year! I love you very much, Trevor! I can't wait to start this adventure with you!

ALL DONE...for now!

Yea! Here is a picture of my framed diploma! Definitely the most expensive piece of paper I've ever owned. Anyone have any get rich quick schemes? I've got to pay for it now! Wreck 'Em Tech!!!
